I left school early and I probably should have stayed a couple more years - just knuckled down and done it. I couldn’t see the point then. Now it’s not as easy if they leave too soon. It’s good to be able to give the boys a chance to see what work’s all about. They think they want to be builders and it’s not until they’re on the job they realise they need their maths. It might look easy but they get really tired by the end of the day. Sometimes it makes school look better than before!
