Our Team
“Who is Plan-it Youth?” Alex, student.
- The teacher managing Plan-it Youth in each school works closely with the Principal, mentor team and students in that school, supported by a volunteer mentor team leader.
- Outlying and ‘new’ schools are also supported by an ‘Outreach volunteer team leader/s’. There is a network of Plan-it Youth teachers from participating schools and a Hunter mentor network.
- Mentors and teachers work closely with the Plan-it Youth Hunter Coordinator.
- All participants have the opportunity to contribute to policies, raise issues and make suggestions through a regular Plan-it Youth Hunter Forum.
- Plan-it Youth Hunter Strategy Group sets and manages regional Plan-it Youth priorities.
- The Strategy Group includes representatives from major stakeholders and works closely with participants in the Forum and NSW Department of Education and Training.
- The Plan-it Youth Hunter Coordinator is employed by the NSW Department of Education and Training.
- Other team members include mentor trainers from TAFE Outreach Hunter Institute, and sponsors and supporters who contribute in-kind and/or financial support.
- There is plenty of scope for expansion of Plan-it Youth Hunter. There are 16 schools currently participating and a total of 34 Hunter high schools in Hunter/Central Coast Region of NSW DET .
